The AA revealed the full list of restaurants to receive Rosettes for 2016 at the AA Hospitality Awards on October 5, 2015, held at Grovesnor House on Park Lane.

Restaurants wishing to attain Rosette standard must outshine other establishments in the local area as inspectors will be looking for restaurants that carefully prepare their food showing skill and understanding whilst using a fresh set of ingredients. Winners also appear in the AA Hotel, Restaurant and Pub Guides.

Two restaurants received the coveted 5 Rosette standard in the 2015 guide which included Clare Smyth for Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Tom Kitchin for The Kitchin.

Who were the new four AA Rosette restaurants in the AA Restaurant Guide 2016?

The evening saw eight new restaurants achieve a fourth Rosette including The Burlington Restaurant at The Devonshire Arms, Ynyshir Hall, Stovell's, Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, Flynn Williams at Westbury Hotel (now Alyn Williams at the Westbury), Fera at Claridges, The Ledbury and Fraiche.

Which chefs and restaurants won awards at the AA Hospitality Awards 2016?

Picking up the AA Chef’s Chef of the Year award was Daniel Clifford from of two Michelin-starred Midsummer House and Flitch of Bacon. The AA Lifetime Achievement Award went to the PIG chain’s executive chairman, Robert Hutson.

The AA Food Service Award went to Belmond Le Manoir aux Quats’ Saisons.

The AA Restaurant Guide 2016 Red Stars award was new to the guide this year to celebrate the very best hotels in the British Isles.

There were two hotels to be awarded five red stars in this new category including The Merchant Hotel, Belfast and
The Corinthia Hotel, London. The four star club included 
New four red star hotels, Great Fosters, Egham, Aviator, Farnborough and The Grove, Narberth. While four hotels picked up three stars; Goldstone Hall, Market Drayton; The Pig near Bath, Hunstrete; The Pig on the Beach, Studland and The George Hotel, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
