I just joined today (no ****), I am a student studying Culinary Arts Management at Thames Valley Uni.

I am a complete newbie when it comes to a professional kitchen, but I am quite an accomplished home cook which probably means bugger all in the chef world

My main reason for being here is to make contacts and pick your professional brains.

LOL.. I’d like the recipe for that too please. Baking a cake in a kettle? Hmmm.. You need to upgrade to an oven. It is slightly bigger, but a lot more enjoyable. Though it can’t boil water like a kettle, I do agree.

Although strictly speaking it is cooked in the microwave…

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

Never tried it myself but then I don’t have a microwave

what you wanna do is grind it up, stick it in a sack with some full fat milk. vacpac it and cook it in a waterbath at 70c for around 2-3hrs. strain it off and then make your cappuccino.
