I have to say that I’m not the best review writer or the best reviewer, I simply love food and get enthusiastic about most food and fail to be objective
Going to the Ledbury was not really on my agenda or radar, I’d known that Brett had a rising two stars, though new little else.

The first thing I noticed about the Ledbury was that it’s unpretentious it was sophisticated, but informal, I’ve been to some high profile Michelin restaurant and felt almost intimidated by the almost stiffness and formality, not the Ledbury.
The service was polite, attentive, and never too fussy. The food, what first struck me about the food was despite modern presentations; Brett avoids the somewhat standard foams and jellies at every given opportunity hooray!. Many of the dishes use classic flavours, everything is seasonal

Each course for me worked so well and was balanced across the tasting menu, a very big plus for me and Sommeliers please pay attention, when guest chose the wine option on the tasting, yes it’s tasting but please a measure more than a thimble would be good. Not so at the Ledbury, enough wine in your glass to marry with the food.
It’s difficult to pick a favourite course, celeriac baked in Ash was very good and offered some great theatre, as they cook it in a sour dough. But each course was very good, and the 5-desserts that we got (It was my Birthday) meant we tasted most of the desserts with the Passion Fruit Souffle was very very good!.

The menu is below, so if your in London and looking for a lunch or dinner opportunity, The Ledbury is definitely must do

That’s a good price.

Simon I’ve never been sadly but Brett openly admits that Phil was a huge influence on him
