Farmhouse Beef in Red Wine Casserole

Ingredients

  • BRAISING BEEF - DICED 800G
  • STREAKY BACON - DICED 73G
  • WATER 283G
  • MAJOR BEEF STOCK POWDER 10G
  • RED WINE - DRY 300ML
  • BUTTON MUSHROOMS 233G
  • GARLIC PUREE 10G
  • ONIONS - DICED 200G
  • CARROTS - DICED 133G
  • CORNFLOUR 24G
  • TOMATO PUREE 53G
  • SHALLOTS 83G
  • BAY LEAVES 1
  • OIL 33ML
  • FRESHLY GROUND BLACK PEPPER TO TASTE

Method

1. Heat oil in a pan, add meat and seal.

2. Add bacon, onions, carrots and garlic puree, saute for 5 minutes.

3. Add tomato puree, MAJOR BEEF STOCK POWDER, water, red wine, bay leaves and pepper.

4. Bring to the boil, cover with a lid and simmer for 2 hours.

5. Add shallots and mushrooms and cook for a further 30 minutes.

6. Mix cornflour with a little water and stir in, simmer for a few minutes.
