Hmm, there's been a few...

I quite regularly send new kids to the backup freezer upstairs at the end of saturday night service (just as the beers come out) to get a leg of salmon to defrost... you soon find out who's got a brain...

my brother once got the newbie commis to wash the lettuce.... and dry it. He gave him a ball of string and box of clothes pegs and got him set up hanging it out to dry from side to side of the kitchen over the stoves.... f**king hilarious, shame the GM didn't share the sense of humour though..

Had kp's concentrating very hard not to mix up sous chefs knives, whisks, etc... sous chef is left handed and it's all specialist equipment you know...

And a long time ago we had a work experience dweeb who we asked him to tray up chicken breasts for a function, to which he whined he was a vegetarian ... chef was getting really pissed of with him so I took him to one side and gave him a large pot of black peppercorns and juniper berries, and explained they had been mixed up by accident, but created a toxic gas if they were ground together, very bad for the customers... kept him out of our hair for a good couple of hours while we cracked on !

Once hid a kp in his own dishwasher.

Back in the day, used to have a weekend part timer who worked at an undertakers during the day and always used to tell us stories from his daily life. One day we thought we would give him a bit of a scare to see how calm he really was.
We had a side room to the kitchen which was a veg prep are with a couple of chest freezer in aswell. With no light on the room was only dimly lit from the main kitchen so we hatched a plan.
First we removed the one solitary lightbulb before service and then put the smallest commis we had in the chest freezer towards the end of service.A few minutes later we sent the undertaker out to get some frozen peas.On opening the freezer the commis let out a scream jumped up and grabbed him round the throat. The undertaker s**t himself and without thinking slapped the "Corpse" with the female gastro he had taken to put the peas in.
Absolute class,two chefs,one prank,done.

Finished piping cheese cake mix into moulds and had some left over. Looked at the C**t De Partie with his back to me leaning against the counter with his legs crossed and his foot out of his clog. A feeling of totally disgust came over me looking at this lazy arse and a need to serve some swift justice.
I eyeballed the sous and then the piping bag and then the CDP's foot.
The sous gave me the nod, I then proceeded to pipe the cheesecake mix into his clog.
He carried on totally oblivous whilst everyone was pissing themselves.
He eventually put his foot in it and then accused one of the others he does not get along with and I got away scot free.

the old red hot pound coin on the KPs trolley is always good,

same KP used to put his false teeth in peoples sandwiches. very funny.

i was seasoning up the omelette pans, left them full of red hot baked salt on the hot plate, one of the waiters comes in, hes always picking off the hot plate. he looked at it and said is it crumble? i said yes, he got a mouth full of hot buring crusty salt!
kept him out of my way for a while
