Iron chef, professional masterchef, masterchef and the rest - all a load of bollocks. The professionals should get back into the kitchen and cook for paying punters, that's the real test of their skills, The amateurs should stop dreaming about owning their own bijou restaurant and get a job as a commis doing 13 hours a day for a few years. If their dream has been to cook for a living why haven't they done it already? I'd rather watch Ready, Steady, Cook - at least it's not up it's own arse.

I do agree with that view, Why can't they be honest and say I want to win this so I can get my own programme on tv and sell crap books to plebs for a sackful of cash. Can;t blame them though if they see a spud faced chancer like Wallace presenting the programme, they must think they are in with a chance.

Fair do's but to put it another context, we all like to be the best we can or to strive to be better, i would personally not take part in these sort of competitions, mainly due to the fact i wouldn't want to lose or be shown up !

something about having a competitive streak

these competitions are just a way of striving to reach a new achievement level are they not

saying that any thing that is testing a chefs knowledge and skills has to be a good thing ?

would you not agree ?

why wouldn't you want to make yourself better? i agree with benchef

i have had a interview for master chef the pro's

to try and do something else

if i don't get through then oh well try something else

some of you has rosettes or Michelin stars and you want to try and get more push yourself so

why say all that programs are s**t when people are trying to achieve more
