For the tenth edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2018, eight new establishments receive a star for the first time while all three and two star restaurants retain their stars.

Arcane, Kaiseki Den, Imperial Treasure, Ying Jee Club, Yee Tung Heen, The Ocean, Rech and Tate have all been awarded with a star in this year’s edition of the prestigious guide. While there are no new three or two star restaurants to attain the accolade this year, all eight three starred establishments have maintained their stars while the two star category remains at 11 in total.

Michael Ellis, international director in charge of the Michelin Guide comments: "Ten years after the introduction of the very first MICHELIN Guide selection for Hong Kong Macau, we are pleased to note the vibrancy of the local culinary scene: the number of starred restaurants has been multiplied by three!”

This year’s selection also includes 82 Bib Gourmand, 73 in Hong Kong and 9 in Macau, offering a quality three course menu for a maximum of HKD400. The selection highlights the quality of Cantonese cuisine and the richness of local gourmet offerings including dishes like Cantonese stir fried, congee & noodle, dim sum in attractive prices.

With the new additions, this brings a total of 292 Michelin starred restaurants to Hong Kong and Macau with 227 in Hong Kong and 65 in Macau respectively.

This year’s listing was announced at the Grand Hyatt Macau in City of Dreams and was presented by director of the international guides, Michael Ellis.
