38th Position in The Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Companies to Work for 2019’

Royal Lancaster London has been awarded 38th position in the acclaimed Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work for 2019.

The prestigious hotel on the edge of Hyde Park, which recently completed an £85 million refurbishment, is proud to be included in the list for the fourth consecutive year.

The Sunday Times ranks Britain's best companies to work for based on a number of criteria. It is mainly centred on surveys of employee satisfaction and thus is a true reflection of the people whose hard work builds the success of the organisation and determines the position and inclusion in the list.

Royal Lancaster London is dedicated to continual and significant investment in their employees, prioritising their development; thus is delighted that this hard work has been yet again rewarded.

Sally Beck, General Manager, said: “We are all thrilled to have maintained a happy team of colleagues and guests throughout the past four years during which time Royal Lancaster London has been completely renovated and redesigned. It’s an incredible feeling to see our hard work pay off and to receive one of the most esteemed accolades in the industry”.

Internal initiatives at all levels have been key in establishing an inclusive mentality, such as a positive approach to work-life balance and a no-blame culture. An inverted hierarchy is adopted by the hotel, which features a reversal of traditional management practices and allows the company to be managed from the bottom up. This means colleagues are able to use their voice and are heard as soon as internal issues arise.

The wonderful work of the hotel’s numerous taskforces undoubtedly played a major role in helping the hotel achieve the accolade. There are wellness days and annual awards parties to reward colleagues for inspirational behaviour. The inclusive culture is demonstrated in how all team members get actively involved in making the hotel a better and happier place day after day.

Royal Lancaster London is part of the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, which consists of three hotels in London: Royal Lancaster London, The Landmark London, and K West Hotel & Spa. There are also two sister hotels in Bangkok, The Landmark Bangkok and The Lancaster Bangkok.
