Bord Bia Irish Food Board

Ireland has a long standing heritage in beef farming with farms traditionally family owned and passed from one generation to the next. Ireland’s mild climate, plentiful rainfall, rich soils and resulting abundant grasslands create the ideal environment for cattle rearing – delivering excellent tasting grass-fed beef. Our network of over 50,000 Sustainable Beef and Lamb Assured farms uphold the highest standards in animal welfare, traceability and quality care. Grass-fed Irish beef is proud to be working with some of the UK’s leading chefs who, like us, are passionate about using the very best ingredients. Over the years we have developed longstanding relationships with chefs across the UK working collaboratively on recipe development and consumer tastings and events, supporting on-menu restaurant activations and bringing UK chefs on educational trips to Ireland to experience the environment and learn more about the product and our rich agricultural history.   Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board) is an Irish semi-state agency responsible for the promotion, trade development and marketing of Ireland’s food, drink, and horticultural products globally.  With a network of 15 international offices, we support the Irish beef industry through a range of services including trade and consumer promotions, bespoke research and buyer-supplier contact events.

It’s been an amazingly tough year for everyone, but during all the heartache we’ve seen some real heroes emerge. People who gave up their time and resources to help others in need without a moment’s hesitation. When the chips were down these people became a shining beacon and stood for everything that is great about the human spirit when facing adversities. The Burnt Chef Project

Launched in May 2019 The Burnt Chef Project was setup with the sole intention of eradicating mental health stigma within hospitality "I've been working closely within the hospitality industry for around 9 years and have seen first hand the struggles of mental health issues within the trade with both clients and friends. Margins are slim and with increased focus on saving money both employers and employees feel the effect of this on their mental health. Long antisocial hours, tough environmental conditions and pressures to perform are just some of the issues that hospitality professionals are fighting against on a daily basis.

We recently conducted a survey of 1273 hospitality professionals which showed that 8 out of 10 (84%) of respondents had experienced mental health issues within their career and 46% would not feel comfortable talking about their health concerns with their colleagues. Hospitality staff should be able to discuss the state of their mental health and gain support from their peers and employers. It's important that although mental health can't be seen it is regularly discussed and policies reviewed. This should be the new definition of 'badge of honour'. Together we can burn away mental health stigma within hospitality once and for all.

Proud brewers of Doom Bar, the UK's bestselling cask and bottled ale, our brewery, situated on the North Cornish Coast, is a unique place with a certain kind of unavoidable energy. Something intrinsically Cornish, something inspired by being among the elements. Air, sea, rock; they surround our brewers who live on this stretch of coast. Looking out over the vast Atlantic, it is the ideal space to create exceptional beers that speak of where we come from. Every one of us has a passion for the place that makes its way into every drop of beer we make. We believe that beer and food make the perfect match and that there’s a beer for every palate and every dining occasion. In our inaugural cook book, Just Add Beer, we explored what makes beer and food great together and worked with some of the finest chefs with links to Cornwall to provide a range of recipes for all occasions. We regularly work with chefs and foodies we’re proud to call friends at events across the UK and hopefully inspire people to go on their own unique beer and food journey.
