Frontrunners announced for The Good Food Guide 2014 Readers' Restaurant of the Year Awards

The Good Food Guide 2014 Readers’ Restaurant of the Year Awards have reached their halfway point with frontrunners from across the country announced today.

Members still have until the 14th April to nominate their favourite local, independently-run dining establishment. Ten regional winners will then be chosen from the public nominations from which the Good Food Guide judges will crown the Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2014.

Frontrunners at the halfway stage include L’Ortalan in Berkshire from the South East; The Seahorse in Dartmouth from the South West; Roger Hickman’s in Norwich from the East; Turners in Birmingham from the Midlands; The Yorke Arms in Yorkshire from the North East and Stravaigin in Glasgow from Scotland.

Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide, Elizabeth Carter, said: “We are very proud of The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year awards; they are such a great way to celebrate the top-notch neighbourhood eateries we have around the country.” To take part in the awards restaurants can encourage their diners to nominate them online, at www.thegoodfoodguide.co.uk/awards, or by making official postcards available in their restaurants until the end of the nomination period on 14th April.

Last year’s awards saw 44,500 nominations with Van Zeller in Harrogate clinching the coveted top spot of The Good Food Guide 2013 Readers’ Restaurant of the Year
