Andy McFadden leaves Pied à Terre

Andy McFadden has left his position as executive head chef at Pied à Terre and will be replaced by Asimakis Chaniotis.

Andy, who has been a part of the Pied à Terre family for over a decade, will pursue a new venture after leaving his position last month.

David Moore, owner of the one Michelin-starred restaurant in Charlotte Street, London, told The Staff Canteen: "I have only good things to say about Andy, he has been brilliant. We will be there for him and wish him the best of luck with the rest of his career which is already amazing - he is only 31 and has held a star for five years!"

On the new executive chef David said: "We are delighted to announce Asimakis, he has been sous chef under Marcus Eaves and senior sous chef under Andy so he is the ideal candidate. He's definitely got his own style and it's going to be a very exciting and interesting phase for Pied à Terre."

He added: "I'm really excited to be working with Asimakis, we have plans here to do a kitchen extension into the basement next door - these are things we have to do. Pied a Terre is known by everybody but we are not on the tip of everyone's tongue anymore like say Clove Club. 

"We've got a safe pair of hands, Asimakis has been with us for five years and he offers strong continuity in the kitchen. We are looking to keep on delivering amazing food and service."

Andy moved from L’Autre Pied, Pied à Terre’s sister restaurant, in 2015, in order to replace Marcus Eaves. Shortly after being appointed head chef at L’Autre Pied, it was awarded a Michelin star, making Andy the youngest Michelin-starred chef in the city at the time.
