Angelo Albera appointed head chef at Cantina Del Ponte

Angelo Albera has been appointed Head Chef of Cantina del Ponte by D&D London. Angelo returns to London from Abu Dhabi where he worked as Speciality Chef of modern Italian restaurant Amici, at Yas Viceroy luxury hotel group.

Angelo is said to be looking forward to this new opportunity which sees him return to London and once again head up the kitchen at Cantina del Ponte.

David Loewi, D&D London’s Managing Director said: “We have always loved Angelo’s authentic Italian cooking and are excited to welcome him back to Cantina del Ponte.”

Angelo has a wealth of experience working in Italian restaurants, including Brand Chef for Zuccato in London and Senior Executive Sous Chef at Wafi, which won the Time Out award for Best Italian Restaurant in Dubai.

Angelo will bring his own flavour of Italian cuisine to Cantina, with a variety of classic dishes such as Ravioli di melanzone e burrata al pomodoro fresco. Highlights from the new restaurant menu also include Spaghetti allo Scoglio & Saltimbocca alla Romana.

Cantina del Ponte is a traditional Italian trattoria featuring an outdoor terrace space with panoramic views across the City, situated by the River Thames at Butlers Wharf, Tower Bridge.
