Arron Tye named head chef of La Brasserie at The Chester Grosvenor

Arron Tye is to be the new head chef at The Chester Grosvenor’s 2 AA-Rosette restaurant, La Brasserie.

The chef, who won the junior chef of Wales 2018 competition, was previously a sous-chef under Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, and is returning to the Cheshire hotel after a year as head chef at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.  

He is joining the team after it was announced that chef Elliot Hill would be leaving his position at Panoramic 34 to become the hotel's executive chef and oversee the relaunch of the restaurant named after Simon Radley to its previous moniker, Arkle.

Commenting on his appointment, Arron said: “I am delighted to be returning to The Chester Grosvenor and to be part of the kitchen team in what is a very exciting time. The recent appointment of Elliot as executive chef and the imminent launch of the hotel’s new restaurant Arkle, means there is an incredible buzz around the hotel.

"La Brasserie has always produced exceptional food, using the freshest of seasonal ingredients, I am eager to build on that reputation and can’t wait to take the restaurant into its next chapter.”

The chef's menu at La Brasserie will include dishes such as guinea fowl and pork terrine with smoked bacon chutney and brioche;  fungi pithivier with Tunworth cheese, celeriac, apple, and verjus as well Josper oven crown of cornfed chicken, leg meat and fungi pie, grilled gem Caesar, buttered kale, truffle and onion.

General manager, of the hotel Richard Grove said the team was "thrilled" to welcome Arron back.

"He is a talented and passionate chef and I am confident La Brasserie will go from strength to strength with Arron at the helm," he added.
