British Roast Dinner Week announces partnership with Trinity Mirror – which publishes titles including The Sunday Mirror, Daily Mirror and Daily Record – to get the nation celebrating British Roast Dinner Week (26 Sept – 2 Oct 2016) in pubs across the country.

Through a series of high profile articles published online and in print, Trinity Mirror and its titles around the UK will encourage readers to celebrate British Roast Dinner Week and champion their local by nominating at www.voteforyourlocal.co.uk. This is the first time the competition has accepted consumer nominations, in addition to pubs nominating themselves.

Chris Brown, channel trade marketing manager for Unilever Food Solutions, said: “We Brits love our roasts. What’s more, they’re helping bolster another great British tradition – loving your local pub. That’s what British Roast Dinner Week and the Best British Roast Dinner competition are all about. By partnering with Trinity Mirror, we can make this year bigger and better than ever – maximising footfall for British pubs and helping our title winners become famous for their roasts.”

The winner will be chosen at the end of the week and have national coverage in The Sunday Mirror to promote the pub.

Before their roasts are put to the final test during British Roast Dinner Week by a team of mystery diners, regional winners will be announced for: South England, North England, Midlands, Wales and Scotland.

At the end of British Roast Dinner Week, one of the regional winners will be awarded the prestigious title of Best British Roast Dinner 2016 and win £10,000 of PR support. The other regional winners will each receive £2,500 of PR support.

Now in its fifth year, the Best British Roast Dinner competition is part of British Roast Dinner Week. The campaign – sponsored by COLMAN’S® and supported by KNORR® – encourages pubs to serve the UK’s favourite pub meal every day of the week.
