Over £20,000 was raised this weekend in aid of industry charity Hospitality Action and Community Action Nepal. Two-Michelin-starred chefs Claude Bosi, Tom Kerridge, Sat Bains, Daniel Clifford and Andrew Fairlie, alongside Paul Cunningham teamed up to host the unique fundraising dinner at Hibiscus, Mayfair.

The high profile chefs created a bespoke six course tasting menu, complimenting each other’s styles and cooking ethos offering guests a truly ground breaking gourmet experience. Dishes prepared on the night included a treacle-cured fillet of beef with steak and ale pie, leeks, black truffle by Tom Kerridge of the Hand & Flowers, and a home-smoked lobster, lime and herb butter by Andrew Fairlie of Restaurant Andrew Fairlie. Auction lots up for grabs included lunch or dinner for four guests from the Tasting Menu at Midsummer House with matched wines, and a ‘Kitchen Workshop’ experience for two guests at Restaurant Sat Bains.

Guests at the fundraising event included Hospitality Action’s Principal Patron Heston Blumenthal and Chairman William Baxter CBE. William commented: “People like Sat and the chefs here tonight, frequently give up their time, often their day off, to help raise awareness and important funds for our charity. We are lucky that the industry is full of such generous people, none more so than Claude Bosi, Tom Kerridge, Sat Bains, Daniel Clifford, Andrew Fairlie and Paul Cunningham. All of the money we have raised goes straight towards helping those who need support, and I know, if I can speak on behalf of those people, that they are very grateful for everything the industry does. We wish Sat the best of British.”

The money raised goes towards Sat Bains’ Guinness World Record attempt for the highest formal dinner party, at the North Col of Mount Everest taking place in April. The expedition, led by former SAS captain and troop commander Neil Laughton, will see a team of British adventurers and climbers, including two Everest summiteers and a professional photographer, attempt to host a dinner at 7,100m (23,293ft) before attempting their summit bids.
