The Frog in Clapham has become the second site acquired by bar and restaurant group Darwin & Wallace.

Following the opening of No 11 Pimlico in March 2013, Darwin & Wallace have now moved for The Frog which will be re-launched under a new name in spring 2014 after significant refurbishment.

The Frog will provide an all-day menu featuring brasserie classics as well as an extensive breakfast and weekend brunch menu and smaller side dishes. At the heart of the business will be the bar providing a wide selection of beers, wine and cocktails to encourage locals to visit the site for social or after work gatherings in the comfortable indoor seating area or upstairs on the roof terrace looking across Clapham Common.

Melanie Marriott, Darwin & Wallace managing director and previously Brand Manager of All Bar One, said: “The Darwin & Wallace team are all incredibly excited to have acquired this iconic new site in the heart of Clapham old town.

“We’re looking forward to evolving the space with an imaginative design which will capture the spirit of the area and the people within it.”

To help piece together their ideal plan, Darwin & Wallace has linked up with respected designer Lou Davies of Box-9 Designs who has previously worked on award-winning Riding House Café as well as The Fish and Chip Shop in Islington.

Darwin & Wallace are aiming to grow by adding further sites between 5,000-7,000 sq ft, predominantly in the affluent London ‘villages’ such as Chiswick, Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Soho, Notting Hill, West End, Hampstead and Shoreditch.
