Atul Kochhar and Tom Kerridge confirmed for Royal Ascot 


Michelin-starred chefs Tom Kerridge and Atul Kochhar are confirmed to head up the fine-dining experiences during this year’s Royal Ascot.  Kochhar, owner of London restaurant Benares, will cook at the iconic horse-racing event for the first time, bringing his signature style of British ingredients and modern Indian cuisine to the Panoramic restaurant.  He joins the Kerridge, chef owner of the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, who will be operating the new On 5 restaurant, which will open after multimillion pound investment in the new Grandstand facilities.

French food critic attacks Michelin guide


Few events are more keenly awaited in France than the release of the annual Michelin restaurant guide, when French chefs and their customers find out who has found favour with the oracle of gastronomy.  This year is no exception. But one week before the red guide is due to announce its coveted three-star awards for 2014, a leading French food critic has leaked its decisions and attacked its directors for the "bizarre" choices that favour young chefs.

Status Quo launch brand of beer


Status Quo are rock and rolling out the barrel - by releasing their own brand of beer.  The stars - led by Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi who have been known for their own love of a tipple - are launching their Piledriver beer in hundreds of pubs from today.
