While these minute quantities in themselves do no harm, no one knows how safe we are from a lifetime's exposure to the chemicals, such as formaldehyde, through eating food previously wrapped or stored in plastics.

A TOP food artist has made a monumental effort to mark National Chip Week. Prudence Staite used a whopping 10kg of oven and chip shop chips to build these top landmarks. And the team who helped her did not skimp on the mushy peas either. The White Chips of Dover took 70 fries and four hours to build, it took five hours and 75 potato sticks to create Stonehenge. A model of the Loch Ness Monster needed just a few spuds.
