Win the chance to experience Mugaritz’s new menu before anyone else


The two Michelin starred restaurant in San Sebastian, Northern Spain, will be celebrating the launch of the new 2014 season by running a competition which will allow six winners and their guests the opportunity to try the new menu, a day before the restaurant officially opens on the 9th April.

Gordon Ramsay buys site of Aubergine restaurant


Gordon Ramsay has bought the former site of Aubergine, the restaurant that launched his career as a chef-restaurateur, and where he subsequently won his first brace of Michelin stars.  The deal, which sees his company Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) acquire 11 Park Walk in Chelsea, reunites Ramsay with the restaurant where he took up his first head chef position, as part of the A-Z Restaurants group, in 1993. He was later given a 25% stake in the business.

Jamie Oliver launches restaurant on Royal Caribbeans Quantum of the Seas


He’s shaken up school meals, helped jobless youngsters and even taken on the American diet – now Jamie Oliver is heading to sea to set up his first restaurant on a cruise ship.    The 38-year-old Naked Chef is expanding his Jamie’s Italian chain to Royal Caribbean’s new vessel Quantum of the Seas, which already boasts skydiving, bumper cars and a pod that carries passengers 90m (300ft) above the waves.  The restaurant will also be introduced to sister ship Anthem of the Seas, based in Southampton next year – putting him in direct competition to Saturday Kitchen chef James Martin and old adversary Marco Pierre White who will be among the five ‘food heroes’ on P&O Cruises’ rival ship Britannia.
