The former Michelin-starred restaurant in Ripley, Surrey has changed its name to The Clock House. It has also been announced that the restaurant has been re-awarded its three Rosettes from the AA Restaurant Guide 2018.

Selina Drake, who appointed Fred Clapperton as head chef following the departure of her former husband, Steve Drake, says the rosettes were suspended due to the change of head chefs. With the rosettes having been re-rewarded, the restaurant re-joins the top 10 per cent of restaurants/hotels within the AA Restaurant Guide.

On her decision to rename the restaurant, owner Selina Drake said: "Our distinctive Georgian building, set back from the High Street in Ripley, has always had The Clock House as part of its address, so it was an obvious choice.

"Last autumn we appointed a very talented new head chef, Fred Clapperton, who had already been with us for a number of years. He has really ‘stepped up to the plate' since his promotion, and his food is receiving rave reviews. Our regular customers have been very supportive and complimentary. The front of house team remains the same, so - apart from our name change - nothing else is different."
