Alex Bond is the chef owner of Michelin-starred Alchemilla in Nottingham.

Proud Yorkshireman Alex has been a chef for over twenty years and has worked at many prestigious restaurants such as Restaurant Sat Bains, Auberge du Lac, Turners and The Wild Rabbit.

It is fair to say that the chef learned from some of the greats: Jeff Baker at 42 The Calls taught him the value or rigour and organisation; at Anthony's, in Leeds, when kitchens working at a molecular level were few and far between, he learnt a unique way of looking at ingredients. Sat Bains gave him more creative freedom, encouraging him to try new things - which is something he applies at Alchemilla.

In 2019 Alex was awarded a Michelin star for his restaurant Alchemilla, a place that prides itself on unique, imaginative, plant-based fine dining.

Alex believes in using the best produce available and puts plant-based ingredients at the heart of the plate, whilst meat and fish play supporting roles.
