As this year's Michelin Guide draws closer, restaurants across the country are set to see their business affected - positively, if they are lucky enough to be the recipients of a star, or negatively - if they have the misfortune of being overlooked by the inspectors.

While some chefs will argue that affordability isn't always an indication of quality and that often the price tag entails more than just the food being served -  there's no denying that in a time of economic uncertainty, cost is a significant factor in customers' minds.

Professional equipment supplier, KitchenKnives, has compiled a list of the country's Michelin-starred restaurants, from cheapest to most expensive based on the price of the cheapest starter, main and dessert on the menu in April of this year.

Which are the cheapest - and most expensive Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK?

Of the country's 163 Michelin-starred restaurants, 12 aren't on the list, either because their offering (small plates, tapas) made it impossible to compare them to the others, or because their pricing wasn't available.

One Michelin-starred Leroy, in Hackney, came top of the list, at £23 for a three-course meal, while unsurprisingly, The Fat Duck was the most expensive, at £325.

The most affordable two Michelin star on the list is The Hand and Flowers, with three courses for £69 and the least expensive three Michelin star meal is at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, costing £105.

Along with the list, the kitchen knives provider designed a map of the UK, showing where the country's fine dining restaurants are.

Surprisingly, seven of the ten cheapest restaurants on the list are located in the capital - whereas out of the ten most expensive, just two (Kitchen Table at Bubbledogs, The Araki) are.
