After 12 years Monica Galetti has decided to leave Le Gavroche. Starting first as a commis and then working up to her senior sous chef for Michel Roux Jr, Monica has paved a career as one of the most influential female chefs in the industry with cookbooks and being a judge for MasterChef: The Professionals under her belt.

In a statement from Michel and Le Gavroche they said:

“Monica has been wonderful to work with, and everyone at Le Gavroche wishes her well with her new venture. She’s a very talented chef and we’re sure that she will achieve everything that she sets out to do.

The Le Gavroche extended family continues to grow as talented people who have worked with us over the years find their own way in the culinary world. We feel very proud that we’ve been able to encourage Monica’s passion for great food and provide the right environment for her talents to grow.”

There are no confirmed plans on what Monica is to do next but discussions over opening her own restaurant have been made.
