Moor Hall launches private whisky dining with The Macallan
Lancashire’s three Michelin-star restaurant Moor Hall has launched a new private dining and whisky experience in partnership with The Macallan, further extending its offer following a landmark year for the business.
At the start of 2025, Moor Hall became the UK’s newest three Michelin-star restaurant, before being named the best restaurant in Britain in Harden’s Guide.
Set within a Grade II-listed thirteenth-century manor house and surrounded by five acres of gardens, the restaurant has now unveiled a collaboration aimed at guests seeking a more immersive, luxury-led dining experience.
A new chapter for Moor Hall
The partnership sees Moor Hall team up with The Macallan Whisky to create a private dining experience available to book from December.
Guests will be offered access to rare releases from The Macallan Red Collection, a series of single malts aged between 40 and 78 years, alongside optional tastings hosted by Macallan brand ambassadors.
The experience is housed within Atelier Hearth, Moor Hall’s private dining room, which has been reworked in collaboration with local craftspeople. The space retains the original beams and windows of the historic building, with a large circular oak table positioned at its centre, seating up to 12 guests.
Atelier Hearth has been designed to feel intimate and domestic, while maintaining the same attention to detail and craftsmanship found throughout the wider estate.
Craft, provenance and shared values

On its website, Moor Hall said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship and provenance.
The restaurant said: “Moor Hall is proud to partner with The Macallan to create extraordinary experiences for discerning guests. The Macallan’s story is one of craftsmanship shaped by the natural beauty of Speyside, the richness of exceptional oak casks, and the skill of whisky makers devoted to their art.”
New Year’s Eve plans
Alongside the wider partnership, Atelier Hearth will host an exclusive New Year’s Eve celebration. The event will feature a one-off tasting menu, champagne at midnight and a firework display across the Moor Hall estate, followed by live music at the restaurant’s sister venue, The Barn.
Guests booking the New Year’s Eve x The Macallan package will also receive a curated whisky selection, a Pommeau Highball made with The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask, and crystal glassware to take home. Prices start from £450 per person.
Building on a standout year
The launch comes at the end of a standout year for chef patron Mark Birchall and his team. Moor Hall’s elevation to three Michelin stars and its recent top ranking in Harden’s Guide have placed the restaurant firmly at the forefront of British fine dining.
