Albert Roux OBE is to open a new restaurant in Scotland, on the '19th hole' of the golf course at Kelso’s The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf course.

Chez Roux on the Green will offer golfers a Franco-Scottish inspired menu to enjoy whilst overlooking the first tee of the 7,111 yard golf course.

Albert said: “Chez Roux on the Green give us an opportunity to enhance the quality experience offered from the region’s championship golf course and award-winning hotel.

“Having already established a fine-dining presence with Chez Roux in the hotel, I am looking forward to launching the new restaurant in the clubhouse."

The restaurant will be set amongst the backdrop of the par 72 course, which was the region’s first championship quality course and is considered one of the most challenging in Scotland.

This latest Roux venture adds to the culinary star’s established presence in the hotel led by head chef Lee Pattie, who will also oversee the Roux on the Green.

Lee honed his gastronomical talents training at numerous Michelin starred restaurants across Europe including De Karmeliet, Bruges and Roux’s La Gavroche, London. Under Lee’s guidance Chez Roux at Inver Lodge Hotel, was awarded two AA rosettes and five star restaurant status.

For a fine-dining experience, the hotel’s Chez Roux restaurant offers an indulgent menu inspired by French classical cuisine and much loved Roux classics including, Soufflé Suissesse and Tarte au Citron.

Albert said: “A high caliber course deserves a menu to match, and is inspired by the clubs loyal members, featuring country styled food crafted using local produce. Like the course itself, the Roxburghe’s 19th will be an experience to savour.”
