Pignut to relocate to The Hare at Scawton
Pignut, the multi award-winning fine dining restaurant in Helmsley, is embarking on an exciting new chapter.
Owners Tom Heywood and Laurissa Cook have announced that Pignut will relocate to The Hare at Scawton, a 12th-century inn nestled in the North Yorkshire Moors.
The restaurant earned three AA Rosettes and a recommendation in the Michelin Guide.
Pignut is based around locality and seasonality with all of the ingredients being sourced within the area accompanied with a sustainable wine list.
A post on social media read: “We are so excited to announce that Pignut is moving to a 12th Century Inn in Scawton where we will be known as Pignut & The Hare.
“We have loved our time in Helmsley and we couldn't be happier with everything we have achieved in our first restaurant, its been a dream. But we always knew it was never our forever restaurant, we always dreamed of having some land so we could be self sufficient and grow as much as our own produce as we could and to also have rooms to make the whole experience. So when Liz and Paul offered us the opportunity to have the Hare we had to take it.
“Thank you to Helmsley estate for letting us build our restaurant and reputation in the most beautiful market town. A massive thank you goes to Liz and Paul for everything you have done at the Hare, it really is a special place, we wish you all the best in all your future plans.
“And for everyone who has supported us over the past 2 years, it has been quite overwhelming the feedback we have received, so we can't wait to see you all in our new home.
“So we will now offer Dinner Bed and Breakfast packages, as well just dining for our full or half menus.
“We open 1st August and our bookings are now live. We cannot wait to welcome you all!
“The last service of Pignut in Helmsley will be 28th June, anyone booked after that time I will be in touch, and anyone with vouchers will still be able to be used at Pignut and The Hare.”
