This autumn, Putney cements its growing reputation as a serious dining destination with the launch of RAAZ, opening at 113 Lower Richmond Road.

The name, meaning 'secret' in Hindi, hints at a concept built on discovery - blending India’s rich culinary traditions with a modern, elevated approach.

At the helm is chef Imran Mansuri, whose career spans some of London’s most acclaimed Indian restaurants. His credentials include time at Michelin-starred Tamarind and Benares, senior roles at Jamavar, and, most recently, executive chef at Kolamba. Now, Imran is channeling years of fine-dining experience into a venue that promises serious food without the stuffiness.

The menu showcases everything from classic chaat and inventive small plates to expertly handled tandoori grills and bold curries. Standout dishes include Cornish lamb chops with kadai mushrooms and quail egg, wild-garlic chicken chop with charred broccoli, and Malabar fish curry with wild seabass. Seasonal sourcing is central to the kitchen’s ethos, with much of the produce coming from Essex farms. Guests can choose between à la carte dining and happy-hour bites, with group feasts, Diwali specials, and Christmas menus already in development.

On the drinks side, RAAZ offers Indian-accented cocktails - think turmeric gin & tonic or jalapeño-guava margaritas - alongside a curated wine list that spans approachable glasses to premium bottles for special occasions.

Inside, the restaurant combines Mayfair-level polish with the warmth of a neighbourhood favourite, complete with beautiful interiors and a state-of-the-art sound system. The aim is clear: to put RAAZ on the list of London’s best new restaurant openings.

Imran added: “At RAAZ, we invite guests to explore India’s rich culinary roots through a modern lens, refined, balanced, and bright. Our goal is to deliver the kind of elevated, nuanced food you’d expect in Mayfair or Soho, right here in Putney.”

With its heavyweight chef, ambitious menu, and stylish setting, RAAZ looks set to be one of autumn’s most talked-about launches - and a new go-to for South West London’s food lovers.
