The Ritz London has re-opened after a major refurbishment with a state of the art induction kitchen; making it more energy efficient, space efficient, cooler and more economical to run.

Much cooking will be done on planchas, minimising the need for fats and oils, and for the many pots and pans of traditional kitchens. The new layout has been designed with workflow in mind: there will be a separate area for stock and large production, a section solely for breakfast and staff food, and under-counter fridges for all cold preparation areas. Individual tasks will therefore be much easier to negotiate, a tremendous benefit since the busy space services the Restaurant, Rivoli Bar, Palm Court and Room Service.

Executive Chef, John Williams MBE, commented: “This is the start of a very exciting new chapter for us here at The Ritz. The new kitchen is a thing of great beauty and will revolutionise the way we cook: induction is four times faster than gas and will therefore allow us to focus more on the à la minute finishes to our dishes. My brigade and I cannot wait to get started!”

The Ritz London Managing Director, Stephen Boxall, commented: “The kitchen is the beating heart of The Ritz London. With this new design, it will perfectly embody the blend of classic values and modern technology that we have embraced throughout the hotel, one which allows us to deliver the Ritz experience to today’s guests. It will also better support our staff, who are at the core of everything we do.”

For over a century, The Ritz has been the benchmark by which other hotels are measured. Perfectly located in a landmark position in the heart of London’s West End, the iconic hotel has long been the choice for Royalty and aristocracy, dignitaries and countless other discerning guests.

Following refurbishment it is sparklingly renewed though still retains the luxurious Louis XVI style interiors, meticulous service and the exquisite bar and restaurants for which The Ritz name is synonymous.
