London’s ultimate cooking challenge, The Slider Decider, is back for 2015 so prep those patties and get the brioche buns baked for battle.

Professional chefs are invited to display their culinary creativity to make signature sliders in what promises to be the cook-off of the season taking place at The Gun, Docklands from 6pm on Thursday 4th June 2015.

Challengers will fight it out in the award-winning gastropub’s outside space overlooking the Thames in front of food fans from across the City and a stellar line-up of judges which has previously included: Rebecca Seal from Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, acclaimed restaurant critic Tracey MacLeod, London Evening Standard’s Food Editor Victoria Stewart and Editor of Restaurant magazine (and self-confessed burgerholic) Stefan Chomka.

Who will be victorious and snatch the coveted Slider Decider crown from 2014’s winner Tim Anderson?

Last year, the former MasterChef champion cooked up the best slider in show with his impressive creation featuring: a craft beer gua bao-style bun, Kewpee mayo and gochujang hispi cabbage slaw, aged mince with bone marrow and umami butter, craft beer burger cheese, brisket braised in craft beer, chipotle, and tonkotsu ramen broth, fried fermented onions, fermented heritage carrot and locally-foraged seasonal nasturtium burger sauce. All served with a cronut hole and craft beer.

The deadline for applications is 14th April, so if you’ve got what it takes to slide your way to the top spot email Angharad@rochecom.com for your official application form.
