Stu Deeley returns with new restaurant at Mallory Court
Stuart Deeley, former champion of MasterChef: The Professionals, has announced his return to the kitchen with a new restaurant at Mallory Court.
The Warwick is set to open at the country house hotel and spa in Warwickshire, with Stu operating as executive chef.
Stu was previously chef director of Smoke at Hampton Manor for three years, before leaving at the end of 2024.
That site has since been taken over by Michelin-starred chef David Taylor.
'Excited to say the least'
Announcing his new venture, Stu said: “Big news!
“After a brief sabbatical, and welcoming Esme Deeley to the world, I'm pleased to share with you all - as from Thursday the 18th of June, I will be leading the team, as executive chef to launch The Warwick at Mallory Court.
“A charismatic but fun restaurant, for birthdays, anniversaries, or just an excuse to go for dinner somewhere fancy.
“It lets me channel my inner Tommy Shelby as I return back to a manor in the sticks.”
He added: “All jokes aside, I'm over the moon to be back in the Eden Hotel Collection, where cooking at Brockencote Hall really lit a spark for me, the romance of a country house hotel. The amazing walled gardens. The view that goes for miles, the terrace in the summer and crackling fire in the winter. The list could go on. But I'm excited to say the least.
“Back to the cooking - classical to suit the manor house but with a hint of cuisines from further afield, and yes, the Baked Alaska.
“Honing in on the best of British produce and our own walled garden. As always though, we let the flavour do the talking.
“Can't wait to see you all there. I hope you're as excited as I am. Please share it far and wide. We all need a bit of good news in an industry that is struggling to catch a break.
“Much love, Stu.”
Mallory Court added: “Thrilled to welcome you to the team. An exciting new chapter begins at Mallory Court - we’re in for something truly special.”
Masterchef: The Professionals winner in 2019, Stu formerly worked under the likes of Steve Love, Luke Tipping, Alex Claridge and Adam Brown, before opening Smoke in Solihull in 2021.
Mallory Court describe The Warwick as “inspired by British heritage, bold seasonal flavours and the finest local produce, it's where tradition meets innovation and every plate tells a story.”
There will be a five-course tasting menu, available from £105, as well as a three-course à la carte for £90 and a three-course Sunday lunch from £55.
Dishes on the menus include Oxfordshire hogget, Shetland Islands cod and ‘black bomber gnocchi’.
Mallory Court Hotel was built in 1916, remaining a private home in 1976, before huge investment in 1995 from entrepreneur Sir Peter Rigby.
