The Clove Club team to open third London restaurant in September
The first solo restaurant from The Clove Club’s current head chef, Chase Lovecky, will be called ‘Two Lights’ and will replace Italian restaurant Amici Mei on Kingsland Road, Shoreditch.
Named after the State Park in Chase’s hometown of Maine, Two Lights is set to open in East London in September 2018. In an interview with Eater this week, he described the new site as: “a small restaurant serving creative and delicious food inspired by modern American cuisine.”
The Clove Club announced the new opening on their Instagram yesterday, with a picture of Chase:
Example dishes from the menu include: Hereford beef tartare and togarashi; Lemon sole, charred tomatoes and seaweed and Grilled mackerel, cherries and black olives.

Owned by chef Isaac McHale and front-of-house team Daniel Willis and Johnny Smith, The Clove Club opened in 2013 and was awarded its first Michelin star the following year. In 2016, they were the UK’s highest new entry to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The restaurant still holds the star to this day, and placed no. 33 on this year’s 50 Best list.
In November 2016, The Clove Club team opened 'Luca', a British-Italian fusion restaurant on St. John Street, Clerkenwell. Two Lights will be their third restaurant in London.
Chase Lovecky has worked as head chef at The Clove Club for three years, following the departure of Tim Spedding. Prior to this, Chase worked at Jean-Georges and Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York, and also spent some time at Seiobo in Sydney.
