The Plant based London restaurant Plates has announced they will be relocating to a new location later this year.

Owners Kirk and Keeley Haworth announced the news via the restaurant’s Instagram profile explaining that Plates would close for a few months as they prepare the new premises.

The statement from the owners announced to the restaurant’s followers: “2022 was a wonderful year collaborating with @untitled_bar_ldn in Dalston and welcoming so many of you to dine with us, but now is the time to focus on settling into a new multifunctional restaurant & food studio that is fully ours. The restaurant will be closed for the next few months whilst we begin this process. Our food studio and events side of the business remains open.”

Opening in 2017, Plates has provided London’s east end with vegan fine dining speared head by brother and sister Kirk and Keeley Haworth.

Leading the kitchen-side of business, Kirk CV boasts an impressive range of past employers with the young chef holding positions at The French Laundry, Restaurant Sat Bains, The Square, The Quay and Northcote.

Meanwhile, Keeley curates and oversees all creative projects at Plates, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with food and drink to create truly unique content and collaborations, thanks to her experiences working in nutrition and marketing, at Vacherin and Studio La Plage.

As it stands, the new location is unknown but did confirm that more announcements on the new premises and plans for the future would be made in the coming weeks and months.

The pair added: “The restaurant will be returning asap with the same ambition to bring you the best plant-based dining experience you’ve ever had (in a new London location). We will be sharing news, new dishes and LOTS of food development along the way to reopening day - so keep following and stay with us for the ride!”
