The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 announces the 51-100 list

With just one week to go until the live ceremony in Bilbao, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced the list of restaurants ranking from 100-51.

Sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, the list was compiled by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants voting Academy, which consists of over 1000 industry experts and is independently adjudicated by Delloite. It features 15 new entries from 23 countries across five continents, with the highest newcomer being Sühring in Bangkok, Thailand at number 54.

The announcement comes ahead of the annual awards ceremony, which takes place on Tuesday, June 19 at Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao.

The USA boasts the most places on the list, with eight restaurants in total and two new entries - Miele's One To Watch 2018 SingleThread, Healdsburg and Le Coucou, New York.

Also amongst the new entries to this part of the list for 2018 are Twins Garden (No.72) in Moscow, Russia and Frantzén (No.65) in Stockholm, Sweden - both of which have re-launched since previously ranking. 

Two London restaurants have placed in this second half of the list: St John, Clerkenwell and Hedone by Mikael Jonsson. The highest placing UK restaurant was The Fat Duck at number 74, which once held the top spot back in 2005.
