La Paix, La Table de Maxime and Ma Langue Sourit receive two stars and 7 others have achieved one star in the Michelin Guide Belgium and Luxembourg 2019.

The restaurant Hof Van Cleve (Kruishoutem) remains at the forefront of Belgian gastronomy in this 2019 following the closure of the restaurant Hertog Jan (Zedelgem), Belgium now only has one three starred restaurant.

There are three new two star restaurants. At La Paix (Anderlecht), chef David Martin; chef Maxime Collard, of La Table de Maxime, in Our, and Ma Langue Sourit in Oetrange, where chef Cyril Molard never ceases to surprise his customers with an impressive palette of flavors.

Speaking about the selection, Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guides said: “This 2019 selection, with its 139 starred establishments, perfectly illustrates what characterizes the Belgian and Luxemburg gastronomic scenes. Indeed, we find among the distinguished restaurants, establishments that offer traditional cuisine consisting of authentic specialties from the pinnacle of the gastronomic heritage of these two countries, but also more contemporary restaurants that combine modern techniques and flavors from elsewhere. Our inspectors have, again this year, been able to compile, from a precise methodology, a complete selection faithful to the gastronomies of Belgium and Luxembourg”.

Seven new restaurants earn a first star in this 2019 edition: In Wallonia, at La Plage d’Amée in Jambes,  Benjamin Laborie at La Ligne Rouge in Plancenoit, Little Paris restaurant in Waterloo,  EED in Leuven, Nathan, in Antwerp, FRANQ, Les jardins d'Anaïs in Luxembourg and Comme Chez Soi restaurant in Brussels.

The 2019 selection also includes 171 Bib Gourmand restaurants (identified in the guide by the Michelin Man symbol), including 23 new addresses.
