Tom Kerridge’s London restaurant Kerridge’s Bar & Grill will temporarily close in August ahead of the launch of a new bar and reimagined restaurant at Corinthia London.

The restaurant will close following service on Sunday, August 2, 2026, before reopening alongside the new bar in early September.

Tom Kerridge and Corinthia London said the changes would mark “an exciting new chapter” for their partnership, although further details about the new concepts, menus and design are being kept under wraps.

Kerridge’s Bar & Grill to be reimagined

When it reopens, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill will occupy a more intimate setting within the five-star Westminster hotel.

The redesigned restaurant will sit alongside the new bar, with the two spaces intended to offer guests a fresh way to experience Tom’s British cooking and approach to hospitality.

A statement announcing the plans said: “Reopening in a more intimate setting, the restaurant will sit alongside the new bar, together offering guests a fresh way to experience Tom Kerridge’s warm hospitality and celebrated British cooking at Corinthia London.”

Kerridge’s Bar & Grill also shared the news on social media, telling guests: “We will be closing temporarily from Sunday 2 August 2026 while we make way for an exciting new chapter.

“We’re keeping the details under wraps for now, but we can’t wait to welcome you back to experience what we’ve been working on.

“We’ll be back in early September alongside our newest exciting venture by Tom Kerridge.”

The restaurant thanked guests for their continued support and said it looked forward to welcoming diners back in September.

Tom Childs at Kerridge’s Bar & Grill

Kerridge’s Bar & Grill is led by head chef Tom Childs, who joined the restaurant as junior sous chef before progressing through the kitchen and succeeding Nick Beardshaw in 2024.

Tom previously worked with Paul Ainsworth at Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth at No6 in Padstow and spent time working for Heston Blumenthal.

Speaking to The Staff Canteen after becoming head chef, Tom said he wanted to retain the identity established by Tom Kerridge while bringing his own ideas to the restaurant.

He said: “The style I’ve brought to the restaurant is very much keeping the Tom Kerridge DNA.

“We’ve taken stuff from the Hand & Flowers, like the parfait, and they’re going down really well. But I'm looking to bring my own stuff to the table as well.”

The restaurant’s existing experience includes a meat fridge from which guests can select their chosen cut before watching it cook on the rotisserie, alongside tableside elements including a carving trolley.

Tom said his ambition was to continue evolving the operation while keeping both guests and the restaurant team engaged.

“Now it's time to refresh, to add something different and still be relevant and create a menu that excites the dining room, but also excites the team as well,” he said.

“Success for this restaurant is being busy, with happy guests. A full dining room and a happy team.

“Anything else that comes after that, amazing. But that's the most important thing for me.”

Tom Kerridge’s first London restaurant

Kerridge’s Bar & Grill opened at Corinthia London in 2018 and was Tom’s first restaurant in the capital.

Its menus have focused on elevated interpretations of British classics, combining traditional techniques with seasonal British produce in a relaxed but luxurious dining room.

Tom opened The Hand & Flowers in Marlow with his wife Beth Kerridge in 2005. It later became the first pub to hold two Michelin stars and remains the only two-Michelin-starred pub in the UK.

His restaurant portfolio also includes Michelin-starred The Coach in Marlow.

Kerridge’s Bar & Grill is located at 10 Northumberland Avenue.

Further details about the reimagined restaurant and new bar will be announced ahead of their opening in September.
