Tony Parkin has announced he will be leaving Tony Parkin at The Tudor Room next month to focus on 'new projects'.

Tony joined the restaurant at Great Fosters Hotel in 2019 and went on to gain a Michelin star within 4 months.

On leaving, he said: "I am incredibly proud of what the team and I have achieved, and it feels like the right time to close the door on this chapter. I am looking forward to focussing on new projects and showcasing my food in a different environment."

Tony has since gone on to win various accolades including four AA rosettes, and no.27 this year at the Top 100 Restaurant Awards, not to mention several stints on Great British Menu where he made the regional finals.

On a post on Instagram yesterday, Tony said: "After weeks and weeks of thinking and debating I finally made the decision to resign from the tudor room. This is not a decision that came easily and not a decision that I suddenly decided after having a bad service. Myself and the team have put our entire energy into this little restaurant and have achieved things that I could have never imagined!"

"I’m incredibly proud of what we have done and also thankful for all the messages and support that I have received today. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and in the current staffing crisis you expect yourself and the team to be acknowledged and looked after for there efforts. I’m not going to go into to much detail but my loyalty is to the staff that have made this restaurant become what it has and that worked every hour to make sure that we gave our guests the experience that they deserve."

"The restaurant is just another chapter of my career I can now close a door on and look forward to the next one. My last service will be the 6th of august for everyone that has asked and I would like to thank my main man Tim Sheed. Also thank you to all the customers and suppliers that have supported us. Big love"
