Two new three stars for Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2019

Caprice (Hong Kong) and Jade Dragon (Macau) both receive three Michelin stars in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2019.

Twelve new restaurants gained stars in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2019, with two of the restaurants receiving the highest honours, three stars.

Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of Michelin Guides, said of the 2019 list: “Hong Kong and Macau are very special cities within the gastronomic world. They attract many tourists and business people from around the world, and as a result these cities have been blessed with gastronomic influences that oscillate between traditional Cantonese and Macau cuisine, combined with international flavours.”

The newest iteration of the guide shows two new three star restaurants:

Caprice, run by Chef Guillaume Galliot, offers contemporary French cuisine showcasing luxurious ingredients in refined dishes.

Jade Dragon, which is based in Macau, receives its third Michelin star. Authentic Cantonese specialities are made from the highest quality ingredients to delight gourmets in gorgeous surroundings.

The 2019 guide is further supplemented by the addition of 4 new two star establishments, four based in Hong Kong and one in Macau.

Écriture (Hong Kong) celebrates French classic cuisine with Japanese ingredients.

Sushi Saito (Hong Kong), makes their first entry into the Michelin guide, and is hailed as being amongst the best sushi restaurants in the city.

Ying Jee Club (Hong Kong), gains a second star this year after receiving one last year.

Alain Ducasse at Morpheus (Macau) offers some of the most well-known dishes from the French chef.

Fifty-five one star restaurants are in the 2019 list with six new one star restaurants in Hong Kong also joining the list.

Arbor, Guo Fu Lou, New Punjab Club, Octavium, Xin Rong Ji and Belon all join the list and help to exemplify the cultural and gastronomic diversity present in the region.

Arbor and Belon are both inspired French cuisine, New Punjuab Club showcases excellent North Indian cuisine, and Guo Fu Lou serves up Cantonese fare. Xin Rong Ji displays some fantastic flavours from Taizhou cuisine an OCtavium serves Italian cuisine.
