Hello from Cooking Towers!

It's time for our monthly round up of the very best and most popular content on our Chef Plus mobile app. Whilst things are still pretty hot here in the UK, your dishes and recipes are even hotter and we're loving it!

Here's a select few chefs that we've been following:

Michael Coggan

Sean Streete

Matt Waldron

Top recipe pick of the month

The most popular recipe this month was MSC Cod Loin, creamed leeks, tomato & brown shrimp butter recipe by Andrei Lusmann. With tasty seasonal tomatoes and fantastically flaky fish, it's the perfect dish for summer evenings.

Top cocktail recipe of the month

The most popular drinks recipe this month was an old one from World Cocktail Day 2017. Sopwell House's 'Battenberg' cocktail is made with summer fruits and champagne, but you can also use Prosecco or sparkling wine instead.

What foods are in season in July?

We all know that July's produce is full of rich flavours and vibrant colours, including cherries, beetroot and courgettes. Make sure you upload your seasonal recipes and images to the Chef+ app, and we'll share the best ones on our social media channels.

There's also some exciting fish and seafood in season in July, including pollack, herring and catfish.

Member of the Month June 2018

Damon Fletcher

Our Chef Plus Member of the Month for June is Damon Fletcher. Damon is sous chef at the two AA Rosette Allt Yr Afon Restaurant and Brasserie at Wolfscastle Country Hotel in Pembrokeshire. He loves cooking meat, and describes his food style as 'the use of only a few top-quality ingredients, extracting from them a wealth of flavour, texture and visual impact.'

As his Member of the Month prizes, Damon won  a copy of Where Chefs Eat, a selection of goodies from our app sponsors Essential Cuisine, and The Staff Canteen 10th Anniversary mug.
