Forget your yearly struggle of trying to fit the turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings and parsnips all into the oven at once and leave the cooking to someone else. Here is our run-down of who is serving up Christmas dinner this year so you can take the hassle out of cooking and just simply eat and be merry.

London House


London House is fine-dining neighbourhood-style in Battersea Square – a stylish yet friendly and informal spot for a Yuletide celebration.

A decadent six-course menu throughout the day includes turkey wrapped in potato spiral with Brussels tops and girolles ragout; foie gras and quail boudin with truffle sandwich and winter ragout; and spiced Christmas pudding parfait with brandy foam. Cosy up in the bar afterwards for a Christmas cocktail or three.

The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen & Cinnamon Soho


Add a sprinkle of spice to your Christmas Day this year at one of executive chef Vivek Singh’s award-winning modern Indian restaurants, The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen or Cinnamon Soho, and enjoy an inspired Indian feast with all the trimmings.

Set against the book-lined shelves of the historic Westminster Library, The Cinnamon Club is going all-out with a four-course, spice-infused lunch menu (£85 per person) with dishes such as Keralan-style lobster soup flamed with brandy and South Indian-style stir-fry of goose breast with red onion, curry leaf and layered paratha.

Sleek and smart Cinnamon Kitchen in the City is serving a three-course menu (£60 per person) with gorgeous dishes like grilled goose breast, cafreal spices and roasted winter vegetables and slow-braised Kentish lamb shank with rogan josh sauce.

Finally, cool and casual sister restaurant Cinnamon Soho is also offering a three-course menu (£45 per person) with dishes such as rann-braised lamb shoulder with saffron sauce and stir-fried turkey with pepper and curry leaf.

Michelin-starred Mayfair restaurant maze will be serving both Christmas Day lunch and dinner from their set five-course menu. 

Featuring roasted Norfolk bronze turkey with all the trimmings closely followed by a clementine trifle and a Christmas pudding soufflé with fresh hazelnuts.

Price: Lunch at £130 per person (£65 for children under 12) and dinner at £100 per person (£50 for children under 12).

York & Albany


If you’re unable to cosy up in the Winter Cabin at York & Albany during December, fear not. The rather posh pub is serving a five-course menu for both Christmas Day lunch and dinner.

Start with bresoala, scallops, seared tuna loin or beetroot terrine; move on to Norfolk bronze turkey breast, stuffed leg, chipolata, Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes and cranberry sauce; and finish with a marbled Bailey’s mocha cheesecake or apple and cinnamon mille-feuille with Calvados toffee sauce.

And with a location between Camden and Regent’s Park, you’ll be perfectly positioned for that post-Christmas Day walk should you be the outdoorsy kind.

Whether you choose to dine on one of the banquettes or at the butcher's block overlooking the kitchen, maze Grill Mayfair has the perfect menu for Christmas Day.

Kick things off with a selection of sliders and canapés on arrival followed by Josper-grilled turkey with honey-roast parsnips, potatoes and cranberry jelly. Ginger cake with mulled wine soup as well as a traditional Christmas pudding and brandy cream wrap things up nicely, giving guests plenty of choice from this excellent festive five-course menu.

Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard


35 levels up the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard are elevating the sense of occasion with a luxurious three-course lunch served against a stunning backdrop of the city skyline. Dishes include slow-cooked Denham Estate venison loin and roasted Norfolk turkey with chestnut stuffing, goose-fat roasted potatoes, Brussels tops, crushed carrots and cranberry compote.

Wines will be paired, naturally, and an array of traditional Christmas puddings will be served alongside tea and coffee. Children are in for a treat, too, with Father Christmas making an appearance during service, Christmas cookie-making and other festive crafts.

Bel & The Dragon


Paper crowns and duck fat roasties it must be Christmas Day! Bel & The Dragon country inns and restaurants will cook, serve and even do the washing up for you this Christmas. Head Chef Ronnie Kimbugwe has created a Christmas Day menu for everyone which focuses on fresh locally sourced ingredients, favouring small independent producers, whilst incorporating all the wonderful flavours of Christmas.

Dishes include pumpkin soup, shaved truffle and garlic croutons, traditional local roast turkey with all the trimmings, josper grilled Jack O’shea rib-eye of beef, caramelised root vegetables and fresh horseradish, classic Christmas pudding, home-made brandy butter and Sipsmith vodka and lemon zest sorbet…and of course home-made mince pies.

Christmas lunch at Restaurant James Sommerin in Cardiff will put you in a festive mood quicker than you can say Mistletoe and Wine.

James and his wife Louise will show you a true Welsh Christmas Day which is reflected in their Bwydlen Cinio Nadolig (Christmas Day Menu).  The five course menu will tickle all taste buds and dishes include duck liver, crème brulee and apple sorbet. The Greyhound on the Test


Head to the Michelin pub of the year, The Greyhound on the Test in Hampshire, to celebrate the festive season in front of roaring fires in this award winning pub.

Head chef, Neil Cooper has put together a Christmas menu with dishes that include starters such as roast celeriac soup with honey and chestnut or guinea fowl terrine, pickled vegetables and toasted brioche, main courses of roast breast of Hampshire turkey, confit leg, stuffing and all the trimmings or steak and greyhound ale pie with braised red cabbage and winter greens.  For desserts try Christmas pudding with custard, lemon possset with poached pear and shortbread or a selection of Hampshire cheeses.

Stoke Place Hotel


Stoke Place Hotel in Buckinghamshire will be celebrating Christmas this year in their brand new restaurant, Seasons at Stoke Place.

Head chef James Dugan will be offering a special Christmas Eve Dinner as well as Christmas Lunch, Boxing Day Brunch and a Festive Afternoon Tea.

Four-course Christmas luncheon and the traditional Queen's Speech will feature roast celeriac soup, radish and apple or guinea fowl and leek terrine, plum chutney, brioche or poached salmon, cucumber, vanilla and pomegranate dressing. For main there will be a choice of roast Norfolk turkey, potato fondant, chipolata, cranberry jus or roast rib-eye of beef, dauphinoise potato, cauliflower purée, baby spinach, bone marrow jus or pan-seared sea bass, sweet potato, bok choi, orange dressing or beetroot and spring onion gnocchi, oyster mushrooms and parmesan foam.

For dessert try dark chocolate delice, ice cream or carrot parfait, ginger bread, cinnamon foam or pear panna cotta, mulled wine sorbet or Christmas pudding, brandy butter and ice cream. And finish with Cornish yarg, blue cheese, quince jelly, biscuits and luxury Arabica coffee and warm mince pies.

For the kids we have a special visit from Father Christmas himself.

Children under five years old are complimentary and children under 12 years old pay half price.

Indian Essence


Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded Indian Essence will be opening its doors on Christmas day to serve you modern Indian cuisine with a festive focus.

Atul Kochhar has created a luxurious Christmas lunch menu for all those who seek seasonal Indian twists on Christmas classics. Receive champagne on arrival before sitting down to your five course Christmas cuisine.

Atul will be creating butter lobster asparagus cream, followed by a choice of venison brochette kebabs, squid ink pepper crusted grilled king prawn, crisp vegetable bhanjee or corn fed thin chicken breast.

For mains opt for your ‘anything but traditional’ tandoori masala turkey supreme or choose between a braised leg of lamb, a south Indian seafood kofta or organic stuffed courgette. For dessert go adventurous with a Christmas mincemeat samosa or a peanut butter parfait. Keeping it traditional with after dinner coffee and mince pies Indian Essence will metamorphose into your home away from home this Christmas day.
