James Holah has been named group executive head chef of Angela Hartnett Ltd., which includes Michelin-starred Murano, three Cafe Murano restaurants and Italian deli-café, pastificio

James brings 23 years of experience to the role, having worked for the likes of Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's, Marco Pierre White, Phil Howard, Sally Clarke, John Williams MBE at The Ritz and served as the executive sous-chef at Selfridges and Harrods before joining Angela Hartnett's restaurant group in March 2022.

Angela Hartnett OBE opened her flagship Italian fine dining restaurant in Mayfair in 2008, earning a star within a year, followed by 4 AA Rosettes.

She subsequently launched its three brasserie-style sister sites in the capital, Cafe Murano, first in St James' in 2013, then in Covent Garden in 2015 and finally in Bermondsey in 2019. Pastificio is a deli-café specialising in pasta, wine, and cheese, adjacent to the Covent Garden restaurant.

The much-adored chef and restaurateur also founded Hartnett Holder & Co in partnership with Robin Hutson and chef Luke Holder at The Lime Wood Hotel in 2012, which is Michelin-listed and holds 3 AA Rosettes.

Welcoming James to his new role, she said she was "very happy to have him on the team."
