Acclaimed chefs Michael Caines and Phil Howard are both hosting restaurants at Royal Ascot next year.

The chefs, who each have two Michelin stars, will each host a restaurant on all five days of the event in 2015. Michael Caines will be serving his cuisine in ‘On5’, Ascot’s restaurant which opened to excellent reviews last year, while Phil Howard will be hosting a menu in the Panoramic Restaurant.

Michael Caines, executive chef at Gidleigh Park, described the venue as “amazing” and said: “I am very proud to be a part of this year’s event. I hope my passion for cooking combined with the unique surroundings and added flair of the experience I bring from Gidleigh Park will create an unforgettable day for my guests.”

Phil Howard, head chef and co-owner of The Square, came to Royal Ascot in 2014 as a guest, and said “I’m really looking forward to being a part of this year’s event, from the kitchen this time, and using my interest in British ingredients to create a stunning menu to match the spectacle of a day at Royal Ascot.”

35,000 guests enjoy Royal Ascot’s Fine Dining facilities every year, of which there are 12 restaurants, each with their own individual menu styles, including The Parade Ring, Sandringham and Old Paddock. Menus outside of the ones Michael and Phil will be designing are created by Ascot’s award-winning executive chef Steve Golding. Steve was a recent runner-up for the 2014 Catey’s Chef of the Year.

Some menus at Royal Ascot will also be designed by Gordon Ramsay protégé Angela Hartnett, head chef of Murano.
