Purnell's Café & Bistro is one of 10 new restaurants included in the latest update of the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

The new Michelin additions include notable establishments such as Saltie Girl in London, a specialist in tinned fish, and Furna in Brighton.

Saltie Girl was commended for capitalizing on the "new craze" for tinned fish, pairing it with delectable and harmonising accompaniments.

On the other hand, Furna, which opened in November 2022 and is helmed by chef Dave Mothersill, impressed with its precisely crafted dishes centered around British produce with innovative Asian influences.

The list of additions also includes Purnell's Café and Bistro, a venture by chef Glynn Purnell situated in a former 14th-century monastery.

The guide recognized Hiraeth, an independent pub restaurant in the Welsh village of Llysworney, which successfully launched after chefs Lewis Dwyer and Andy Aston raised over £30,000 through crowdfunding.

Hotel restaurants also received acclaim, with the Orangery at Rockliffe Hall in Hurworth-on-Tees and Montagu's Mews restaurant at the Royal Crescent hotel in Bath being highlighted for their impressive culinary offerings.

Additionally, Forge, located on the Middleton Lodge Estate in North Yorkshire, earned praise for its seasonal tasting menu experience that prominently features locally sourced produce, including honey and birch sap from the estate's 200-acre grounds.
