Michelin-starred Welsh-Inspired grill restaurant Brat is soon to have a sister site, as chefs Tomos Parry and Ben Chapman are in talks to secure a second property in central London.

Eater London reports that following on the success of the restaurant's London Fields pop-up during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, Brat chef owner Tomos Parry and Ben Chapman - the chef, restaurateur and designer behind award-winning Super 8 restaurants Smoking Goat and Kiln - have their sights set on a site in Soho, which they hope to open before the end of 2022.

Tomos Parry, the former Kitty Fischer Mayfair chef earned a Michelin star within months of opening his Shoreditch restaurant in 2018, as well as a raft of awards and acclaim including the second spot in the 2019 UK National Restaurant Awards.

Ben Chapman said the new restaurant would be “similar” to East London's Brat in its Basque and Welsh inspirations, but that the offering would depend on the location and setup of the space, reportedly stating that “it might take me six months to design the restaurant.”

In terms of the food, he said to expect similar dishes to the fare at the Redchurch Street site - Basque country fire-cooking, not excluding the house speciality of whole-cooked Turbot.

“If you like Brat, then you’re gonna like what Tomos is doing next,” he told the publication.
