Tom Kerridge to launch TV series to rescue pubs on the brink of closure
Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge will be the host of a new BBC2 series aiming to help British pub owners struggling to keep their business afloat.
The chef owner of two Michelin-starred gastropub The Hand and Flowers shared the news on Instagram, calling for any businesses at pains making ends meet to get in touch.

Tens of thousands of pubs have closed across the UK over the past ten years - one every twelve hours, according to The Campaign for Real Ale - which studies have linked to rising business rates, low-cost supermarket alcohol, changing social habits among 18-25 year-olds and the introduction of the smoking ban.
There is hope for the British public house, however, as recently published government figures indicate that the rate at which pubs closed between 2018 and 2019 has been significantly less than in previous years. Among other factors, one explanation for this is the rise of the gastropub - drawing new customers in with a high-quality food offering.
