The Staff Canteen Live college tour celebrating hospitality as a great career choice is back!

Next month we are heading to Bournemouth and Poole College with another great panel of chefs who are all hoping to inspire the next generation. Open to all third year hospitality students based at the college, the second event in the series will take place on February 12, 2019 and will be live streamed on both our YouTube channel and Facebook page.

We will be live from 3pm -4pm and the talented chefs who will be joining us on stage are Adam Byatt, chef owner of Michelin-starred Trinity restaurant; James Golding from The Pig Group; Pip Lacey who has recently opened Hicce in London and Tom Rhodes, executive chef at Twickenham stadium.

The first college event, held at Westminster Kingsway College in December 2018, was a resounding success, with students getting advice and inspiration from John Williams MBE, Executive Chef of The Ritz London; Alyn Williams, Chef Patron of Alyn Williams at The Westbury and The Wild Rabbit; Rob Kennedy, Culinary Director at Compass Group UK and Ireland; Glenn Evans, Head of Food Development at Las Iguanas and Ruth Hansom, Head Chef at Luton Hoo hotel.

The tour is in association with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Action, and aims to inform students on how to forge a successful career. Sponsors for the event are Koppert Cress and Alaska Seafood

The Staff Canteen Founder, Mark Morris, said: "I’m really excited to be holding the second #TSClive College tour at the college I attended over 30 years ago. We have another outstanding chef line-up for the day and they need little introduction. Building on the success of our first event, I’m confident that the students of Bournemouth and Poole College will be inspired to build an amazing career in hospitality. I’m confident the panel, the lecturers and The Staff Canteen can play a part in that journey."

As well as offering students the opportunity to question the chefs directly, they will all be entered in to a competition draw and the winner will spend a day in the kitchen of their choice of one of chefs on the panel. December's winner was Rudy Clifton, who is studying for a Professional Chef Diploma at Westminster Kingsway College. Rudy chose to stage at The Ritz London.

As with each College event, The Staff Canteen will be donating £1000 to Hospitality Action, on behalf of the chefs on the panel.
