The Staff Canteen set to launch in Australia
After 17 years in the making, The Staff Canteen is officially set to launch in Australia!
On Wednesday, November 12, we’re proud to announce we will be launching ‘The Staff Canteen Australia’, a dedicated platform for the country’s chefs and hospitality professionals.
The new channel will deliver the same chef-led content, original video, behind-the-pass access, and unfiltered industry voice that’s made The Staff Canteen the most trusted hospitality media brand in the UK.
And we’re launching with serious support - including some of the most recognisable names in global gastronomy.
Backing from top chefs
Heston Blumenthal OBE, chef proprietor, The Fat Duck and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal -
“Hospitality and cuisine are all about connectivity – from finding likeminded people to pursue your vision to creating and presenting food that connects people and generates emotions.
“The Staff Canteen is an excellent platform for promoting that connectivity. Extending its reach globally to Australia is going to be great for the industry.”
Clare Smyth MBE, chef patron, Core by Clare Smyth (London); Founder – Oncore by Clare Smyth (Sydney) -
“The Staff Canteen has long been a place where chefs can connect, learn and celebrate their craft. Its launch in Australia is an exciting step that will support the industry and shine a spotlight on the creativity and dedication of chefs across the country. We’re delighted to see this platform extend its reach to Australia’s vibrant culinary community.”
Matt Abé, founder, Bonheur by Matt Abé (opening 2025); former chef patron at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay -
“Australia’s food scene is dynamic and world-class, and I’m thrilled to see The Staff Canteen creating a platform dedicated to chefs back home. Having experienced first-hand the impact TSC has had in the UK, I know it will provide an incredible space for the hospitality community in Australia.”
Who is leading the launch?
The Staff Canteen Australia is being led by Rob Treacy, founder of Life on the Pass, one of Australia’s fastest-growing hospitality platforms. With an existing 43,000-strong Instagram community and deep ties across the industry, Rob brings local knowledge, videography experience, and chef-first credibility to the launch.
“This is for the chefs - in every kitchen, in every state. TSC Australia will give a voice to the talent that makes this industry so special. From apprentices to exec chefs, we’re here to celebrate their craft, share their stories, and build something chefs genuinely own."
Rob Treacy
Rob will rebrand all Life on the Pass channels under The Staff Canteen Australia banner, supported by the UK editorial, video, and commercial teams.
