Adam Handling, British Chef of the year and head chef at Adam Handling at Caxton has welcomed Desly Kyshon Missick young winner of the Cayman Cookout to join his kitchen team. This comes following his inaugural participation in the internationally acclaimed competition earlier this year.

In January, Adam participated for the first time in the Cayman Cookout, where he joined Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton; Frederic Morineau, in judging a competition to seek out exciting and up and coming Caymanian culinary talent.

Desly Kyshon Missick won after competing in a series of culinary challenges hosted by The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. In recognition of his success, Kyshon was flown to London earlier this month, courtesy of British Airways who sponsored the prize. He was able to spend ten days working with Adam at his restaurant, Adam Handling at Caxton, located at St Ermin’s Hotel in Westminster.

Adam Handling said: “It was an absolute pleasure having Kyshon as part of my team, he worked closely with us to help deliver my latest seasonal menu. Coming to London and learning British style fine dining has been a fantastic opportunity for him.”

Desly Kyshon Missick said: “I would like to thank The Ritz-Carlton and British Airways for the opportunity to travel to London to work under “Masterchef” Adam and to gain his award winning knowledge and skills.”

A British Airways spokesman added: “British Airways was delighted to sponsor Kyshon’s trip to London, this will have been a great learning experience for him in one of the great food capitals of the world."
