Gordon Ramsay offers rare behind-the-scenes access in new Netflix documentary
Netflix have confirmed a new six-part documentary series centred around the life and work of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Being Gordon Ramsay is set to debut on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The announcement of the release date came with the launch of a first-look trailer, that signals a markedly different portrayal of Gordon than audiences have seen in his long run of competitive cooking shows.
Inside the 22 Bishopsgate project
Unlike Gordon’s signature TV shows such as Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef, which focus on culinary competition and high-pressure judgments, Being Gordon Ramsay promises to take viewers behind the scenes of the chef’s most ambitious professional undertaking to date: the opening of five distinct culinary experiences within London’s 22 Bishopsgate.
The series will chart the nine-month journey leading up to that launch, capturing challenges, negotiations, and deadlines rarely seen by the public.
The five venues in question are: Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay, Lucky Cat Roof Terrace, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar by Gordon Ramsay and Gordon Ramsay Academy.
Balancing business and family life
According to Netflix and promotional materials, the docuseries will be structured around Gordon’s efforts to balance the intense pressures of expanding his restaurant empire with commitments to his family life.
Cameras follow him not only through construction sites and kitchen planning meetings but into his home, where he interacts with his wife Tana and their six children.
The result is pitched as a deeply personal exploration of how one of the culinary world’s most recognisable figures manages the boundaries between business and family.

Reflecting on a global career
The announcement from Netflix has highlighted that Being Gordon Ramsay aims to show familiar aspects of Gordon - his drive, rigour and ambition - alongside less familiar ones, including more reflective discussions about his career and personal motivations.
The synopsis for the series explicitly states it will showcase “Gordon as we have never seen him before”, offering insight into both his interpersonal relationships and the mechanics of restaurant entrepreneurship.
The series has already generated conversation among fans and industry observers about what it could reveal, particularly because the scale of the 22 Bishopsgate project represents one of the largest single undertakings in Gordon’s multi-decade career.
Long established as a multi–Michelin-starred restaurateur with operations around the world, including his flagship three-star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, Gordon’s decision to open five venues simultaneously in London’s financial district underscores both his relentless work ethic and his willingness to push creative boundaries.
Being Gordon Ramsay is produced by Studio Ramsay Global, a FOX Entertainment company, and directed by Dionne Bromfield.
Gordon Ramsay’s legacy
Scotland-born Gordon Ramsay is one of the most influential chefs of his generation, combining classical fine dining credentials with global commercial success.
After training in France under Albert Roux, Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon, he opened Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea in 1998. The restaurant earned three Michelin stars in 2001 and has retained them ever since, making it one of the UK’s longest-standing three-star establishments.
Over the past three decades, Gordon has built Gordon Ramsay Restaurants into a global group operating across the UK, Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East, spanning fine dining, casual concepts and premium bars.
Despite his media profile, Gordon has consistently positioned food, standards and training at the core of his career.
