Michel Roux Jr to stop working with BBC for 'foreseeable future'
Michel Roux Jr has announced that he will not work with the BBC "for the foreseeable future". The two-Michelin-starred chef blamed the "frustrating process" that negotiating with the broadcaster involved, as well as questioning whether it understood the "realities of today's commercial world". It ends a longstanding relationship between the chef and broadcaster, which has seen him co-present MasterChef the Professionals for the past six years, and BBC Food & Drink for two series.

Heston Blumenthal to open new outlet at Heathrow
Heston Blumenthal’s latest establishment, The Perfectionists’ Café, is set to open at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 in June this year. This new arrival will be situated in the newly developed Queen’s Terminal with the concept and menu of this latest venture having been discussed for the past year and a half between Heston and his team led by group executive head chef Ashley-Palmer Watts and head chef Julian O’Neill.

Raymond Blanc animated for film promoting the sustainable use of fish
Raymond Blanc has been animated for a series of films about sustainable fish. The chef-patron of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons has been turned into a cartoon character in three films that explore the sustainable use of fish. Launched last week, the films featuring 'Inspector' Blanc include the cases of the Fish in the Canteen, Seafood Sabotage and the Fish out of Water.

IT may look more like a wrecking ball set to demolish the woodland, but Bodmin's newest hotel is actually one of the most environmentally-friendly around. The eco-orb – which looks like a giant bauble – is held 10ft in the air by two giant cables and is strong enough to sleep two people.
