Great British Menu 2023 chefs: Matt Jordan, Northern Ireland Heat

Matt Jordan, Head Chef of Shu Restaurant Belfast, is one of four chefs competing for Northern Ireland region on Great British Menu 2023.

Series 18 of the competition starts on January 31 2023 on BBC Two at 8pm and will air for eight weeks.

Matt is going head to head with chefs Gemma Austin, John Hollywood, Kerry Roper in a bid to represent Northern Ireland in the regional finals, and ultimately cook a dish at the final banquet.

This is Matt's first time competing in Great British Menu.

Biography

Matt is Head Chef of the Shu Restaurant in Belfast and is responsible for delivered modern Irish and European cuisine, showcasing an amazing range of food and drinks. 

Joining the restaurant in 2013, before returning in 2019, Matt has spent nine years at the restaurant and has risen through the ranks demonstrating his extensive food knowledge. 

Between his time at Shu Restaurant, Matt also worked at Brett Graham's Michelin-starred The Ledbury retaurant in London as a CDP.
